Socioeconomic Status
Socioeconomic Status as a Couse of COPD
The risk of developing COPD appears to be inversely related to socioeconomic status—the risk of COPD is higher among people with a lower socioeconomic status. Like the relationÂship of COPD to previous respiratory tract infections, this relationship may be due to other causes (eg, pollution).
In Summary other risk factors are;
- continued exposure to environmental pollutants
- history of childhood respiratory tract infections
- socioeconomic status
